VOLUNTEERS for the St Wilfrid’s Hospice shop in Selsey celebrated 20 years of the charity shop, with a special lunch.
The shop opened its doors on December 13, 1993, and has been raising funds for the hospice ever since.
The anniversary lunch took place at The Seal Hotel, Selsey, with nearly all the 25 volunteers attending as well as the chief executive of the hospice, Alison Moorey, and three of the hospice’s trustees, Michael Bevis, Peter Stoakley and Angela Wormold.
Several of the volunteers were presented with long service awards, including seven who have been at the shop since its first day.
Trustee Peter Stoakley, who presented the awards, said: “It’s an honour and a privilege to spend time with such a wonderful group of people.”
Shop managers Rose Blunden and Fiona Pugh were presented with a plaque to hang in the shop to mark the occasion.
