AN EMERGENCY action plan is to be compiled by Pagham Parish Council.
Members agreed on Tuesday to draw up the procedure to be followed if a natural disaster occurs.
The decision followed last weekend’s storm which saw some 200 people evacuated from Church Farm Holiday Park on the shoreline.
Council clerk Chris Braby said: “There should be an emergency procedure on an A4 sheet of paper with a succession of people to be phoned when this sort of situation comes up.
“We should sit down and put this in place. We should have a decision about who rings who and who does what.”
Ray Radmall, the council’s chairman, told the meeting he was phoned at 11.50pm last Sunday about the evacuation.
It is believed 135 people from the holiday site stayed overnight at the village hall which he unlocked. There was a significant risk of a breach of the inner harbour embankment, he said. But that failed to occur because a neap tide meant the waves were lower than expected.
