A North Bersted flat was smoke-logged after a cooker was left on.
Firefighters from Bognor Regis and Chichester who gained entry to the second floor flat at Lea House in Barton Road turned off the appliance.

They had been alerted to the blaze because smoke was coming from the flat and its fire alarm was sounding.

It was unoccupied at the time of the emergency just before 12.30pm on Thursday, August 14.
