Woman fights for life after head-on crash

A HEAD-ON collision in Burgess Hill on Saturday night has left a local woman fighting for her life.

The accident occurred on a bend in Janes Lane at 6.55pm on Saturday evening (October 4).

The driver of a blue Nissan Micra, a woman in her 50s, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of a red Ford Fiesta, a local woman aged 17, sustained minor injuries.

A passenger in the Ford Fiesta, also a local woman aged 17, sustained a broken arm.

Police are appealing for witnesses. Anyone with information is asked to call the Road Policing Unit at Haywards Heath via 0845 6070 999 quoting Operation Chesham.
