New parking meters across Mid Sussex are still causing disruption throughout the area as machines continue to break down or get stuck in a foreign language.
Motorists and traders have blasted the new parking meters, which were installed to prevent people passing on their car parking tickets, and one shopping centre manager has said the complicated ticketing process is driving shoppers away.
Mid Sussex Distict Council this week said that it is listening to the feedback and will be taking all comments on board.
The council has spent £130,000 on introducing the machines, which it claims will prevent fraud by stopping people passing on tickets to one another or using discarded tickets, improve reliability and add extra security.
However, motorists have struggled to use the new machines and queues are still forming in the car parks.
