A YOUNG pharmacist from Burgess Hill has received vital research funding from Haywards Heath Lions who set up an award scheme in memory of their esteemed colleague Ali Datoo.
Elizabeth Leggo, a full time post-graduate student at Brighton University, is studying the problems encountered by the parents and guardians of children who need long-term medication.
Ali Datoo, a pharmacist and very active member of the Lions Club, died ten years ago and the first bursary of £750 from the Lions' award scheme set up to recognise his warmth and generosity was presented to Elizabeth at a ceremony at the university.
The Ali Datoo Award is open to both under and post-graduate pharmacy students at Brighton University who are undertaking a research project which will directly benefit the community.
