Bognor Regis Horticultural Society – going for gold

AN AWARD-winning gardener will talk about going for gold to members of Bognor Regis Horticultural Society.

Barry Chamber will speak of his experience in clinching a gold medal at last year’s Hampton Court Palace flower show.

His talk will take place at the society’s next meeting at 7.30pm on February 23.

It will be held at the Jubilee Hall in Chalcraft Lane, North Bersted. There is a £2 admission charge for members and £2.50 for visitors.

Mr Chambers achieved the honour for his themed garden based on John Keats’ sonnet, On the Sea. It was also judged to be the best English poet’s garden at the event.

His garden contained giant oat grass, wild carrots and wild flowers typical of vegetated shingle.

Annual membership of the society costs £5.
