Hayling Island has always had its fans and we’ve certainly noticed an increase in buyer enquiries,” said Jack Tompkins, who heads up the service at Henry Adams. “About three quarters of our applicants looking for homes on the Island are coming from the mainland, many from London and the home counties. Our research also shows that people already living here are understandably keen to stay.”

According to Rightmove, Hayling Island has seen property prices increase by around eight per cent over the past year.

“Owners who are thinking of selling may be pleasantly surprised by to find out what their property is currently worth in today’s market,” he added. “We are seeing particularly strong demand in the price bracket between around £350,000 to £600,000 but interest currently is right across the board. The area has so much to offer with such a wide range of sizes and styles of property that the appeal is increasingly widespread.”

Henry Adams has been appointed to market a variety of Hayling Island homes spanning the centuries, from a period cottage with great potential to a detached, a Victorian family house and a beautifully converted barn.

“We have some fantastic homes on the market at the moment and the speed at which our specialist ‘local’ service has taken off has been very encouraging, with our quickest sale reaching exchange of contracts within just five weeks from the sale being agreed,” said Jack.

“Equally we understand that not everyone wants to move at that speed so we take the time to listen to individual requirements and tailor our services and recommendations to suit individual circumstances.

“There’s certainly still time to get on to the market and sell before Christmas but we’re always pleased to hear from Hayling-Islanders who are thinking of selling or letting, whatever their timescale.”
