An interesting then-and-now contrast of a wall in St Pancras Chichester.

A postcard sent in by Observer reader Kate Green shows the building at the junction of St Pancras and Westhampnett Road a century ago.

The horses in 1913 were real as local troops mustered, but today’s horses were created as a mural by Brazilian artist Nunca, from Sao Paulo as part of Chichester’s street art festival.

The artist said that before he came to the area, he was not familiar with Chichester. Through research, he said he found horses were often mentioned in conjunction with Chichester and so decided to incorporate them into his painting.
