A HORSHAM motorcycle racer is making an extraordinary recovery after suffering an horrific crash on the track.

James Dye, 19, from Barns Green, was in critical condition after sustaining a serious head injury when he fell from his bike during a race at Cadwell Park, in Lincolnshire on Monday afternoon.

But just two days later he was walking and talking, according to racing colleagues.

James was rushed to intensive care when he fell from his bike at a corner on the first lap of the Fuchs-Silkolene British Supersport Championship race.

He is believed to have been struck by a following motorcycle, and after being treated on the track, was transferred the circuit's medical centre, before being taken to Hull Royal Infirmary by air ambulance.

His family are at his bedside, and according to racing colleagues on Wednesday, he is now talking and able to walk.
