THE A27 was closed for around 45 minutes today (Monday, July 14) when a burger van caught fire.
A gas leak caused the blaze, in a trailer trading in a lay-by between Poling and Hammerpot, on the east bound carriage.

Niall Cooper, station commander at Littlehampton Fire Station, said the van was completely destroyed by fire, and that no one was hurt.

Crews spent almost two hours fighting the flames.
