A LITTLEHAMPTON supermarket is closed off this afternoon (Thursday, October 9), due to a suspected chemical leak.
Somerfield, in Anchor Springs, where Lucy Yates was stabbed on September 16, has been closed since 1.30pm, when a coolant pipe, used to supply fridges burst, and leaked into the air conditioning unit.

All staff and customers have been evacuated.

A spokesman for West Sussex Fire and Rescue said that about 30 firefighters are currently in the shop's north car park, attempting to ascertain the severity of the leak.

The store is expected to remain closed until at least early evening.
