Gates a traffic issue
AS A resident of this estate I wish to express my objection to the Aldwick Bay Company (ABC) gate proposals.
I agree with the article written that this will not improve security but simply direct all the traffic, contractors, suppliers and others to approach the estate down Barrack Lane.
This approach to the estate past Coastguards Parade is already a surface requiring attention, let alone taking extra heavier traffic.
And with the narrow bend by the shops more close calls or near-misses are bound to happen.
Perhaps the ABC should consider if this goes ahead, installing a curved mirror on this bend so that traffic from either direction can observe any oncoming vehicles?
I trust the ‘no objection given by the WSCC and Highways’ to the gate change took all these and other factors into consideration?
