Danger on the roads
ON JANUARY 8, my son and I were nearly run over by a taxi driver.
We were walking into Morrisons and this man was speeding up to park just in front of the shop.
I put my hand up to tell him to slow down.
He stopped the car and started to run after us.
I thought he was going to attack us so told my son to run.
I told Morrisons and they said they couldn’t do anything and that I should complain to the council, which I am doing.
In November, I was on my bike riding home, I had lights on my bike, a helmet and jacket on, and a lorry overtook me in Longford Road and forgot to raise his mirrors.
I was pushed into the curb and fell off my bike, smashing my head, knees and shoulder.
I am still off sick and in a lot of pain.
The driver was identified, but said he did not see me fall. He got off with a slap on the wrist, while I have to suffer for the rest of my life.
