ADVENTUROUS Felpham students are digging out their passports and packing their bags for a ten day charity mission.
The four sixth-formers, from Felpham Community College, will be making their way to Kenya as part of an 18-strong party organised by Bognor Vineyard Church.
But they will not have much time for sightseeing: the group have a packed itinerary which includes helping to build a girls’ orphanage.
Megan van Driel, who will be joined by classmates Anna Sherwood, Luke Sherwood and Sarah Lavery, said: “We will be staying in Nakuru, a small town about 100 miles from the capital Nairobi.
“It is a busy schedule which includes helping out in churches and a local school. We will also be getting our hands dirty helping with the construction of a new girls’ orphanage.”
Rain Edge, which was established in 2005, works to empower local communities in Kenya. It has already funded construction of a boys’ orphanage as well as a number of food and water projects. All the staff and pupils at the college wished the intrepid four every success with their adventure.
