The past two weekends have seen Pulborough Angling Society's junior team trials at the Goose Green fishery.
The first trial saw just three juniors show up to fish Heron Lake in atrocious weather.

Fergus, Shaz and Chris fished the pole close in. Two 1lb weights were caught and a large 9lb weight was reeled in by Chris.

Trial number two took place on Deep Lake at Goose Green.

This time, 11 willing juniors turned up to chance their arm.

They attempted a variety of methods but it did not go well ... only three fish were caught.

Teams have been selected for the forthcoming Junior League to be held against other clubs.

Paul Hazeldine, Graham Knight and Steve Moulding helped organise the events.

Goose Green

Paul 'Pulborough Pixie' Cripps fished Tench Lake, fishing the pole with maggot on the hook

He caught perch, rudd and some nice roach to 0-12-0.

Moor Farm

Mark Emery fished the bottom lake, alternating between the pole and feeder. He caught roach to 0-8-0, plus half a dozen carp. Most were small commons with one a exception – a 10-5-0 mirror carp.

Paul Mitchell fished the bottom lake. Fishing the waggler, he caught three small common carp to 3-0-0 and a single mirror carp of 12-0-0.

Petworth

Antony Nightingale from Yapton had a fabulous week at Petworth Lake.

In four days, he landed nine tench, eight bream and three crucians.

Fishing with pal Stuart Trent, he used the swing tip feeder rig method.
