Predators Girls took the Worthing Town tournament by storm.

The under-15 girls had great results with both teams who entered, beating three-times league champions Worthing Minors and almost turning over eventual winners Portsmouth Ladies.

The under-11 teams fared better with one team winning the tournament, beating hosts Worthing 2-0 in the semi-final and Eastbourne United 1-0 in the final with a great goal by Sophie Phelps.

The age groups now move up to under-12 and under-16s' football for the 2008-09 season, while Predators Girls look to form a development squad for those girls who will be in Years 5 and 6 from September.

Any girls interested in playing football should call Mike Lauder on 07743 700338.

* Predators Blue played a pre-season friendly against Predators Youth, who last season won promototion to the Arun and District A division.

Blues manager Andy Miles has signed some new boys for this season, and was encouraged by what he saw.

The Blues lost this fixture last season, but were determined to show how far they have come since then.

Both teams went close in the early exchanges, but both keepers were at their best to keep the scores level.

Predators Youth went close two or three times before half-time, but Drew Miles in goal for the Blues kept them out.

In the second half, Predators Youth were the stronger team for long periods before a switch in formation saw Ashley McAllister come into midfield for the Blues.

And within ten minutes he lobbed one home from 25 yards after seeing the goalie off his line.

Damien Burcacki was unlucky to hit the bar, and captain Ben Porter had a great game in defence before pulling up with a leg injury towards the end.

Tyler Janman took over the armband and kept things calm at the back.
The Blues have also lined up a trip to Majorca and a friendly at Fordingbridge.

Team coach John Ryder was pleased but admitted more work was needed.

Predators Youth under-14s require keen midfielders and strikers.

They need to be in Year 9 at school to play for the team this season after their promotion to the A division.

Training takes place every Wednesday at West Park, Bognor, from 6.15 to 7.30.
