Parker pair enjoy brotherly rivalry at lake
Simon and Colin Parker had success when they fished Canada Lake at Goose Green.
The boys, ten and eight, decided a brotherly knock-up was in order, so under the watch of grandparents Ray and Sandy Emery, they set up and were off.
Simon fished the short pole with meat on the hook and caught five bream and three carp, plus a few bits for a total combined net of 20lb.
Colin fished the waggler with corn on the hook and caught carp and bream plus a few bits for a net of 12lb.
Webmaster Mark Emery fished peg 28 on Canada Lake at Goose Green.
Fishing the feeder towards the island, he caught three carp to 5lb, bream, skimmers and some quality roach. All were caught on soft pellet.
Steve and Verity Ludlow fished Kingfisher Lake at Goose Green. Steve fished meat and corn on the waggler and caught several good-sized bream and lots of small rudd, roach and skimmers.
Match Results
The latest round of the PAS Individual Summer League was fished at Greatham Bridge on the River Arun by ten anglers.

The fifth round of the Evening Series was fished on Deep Lake at Goose Green by eight anglers.
Results: 1 Adam Tester (peg 71) 3.49 kg (7-11-0) skimmers and bits to pole and pellet; 2 Barry Hawkes (peg 72) 2.2 kg (4-14-0) skimmers and bits to pole and maggot; 3 Kevin Parker (peg 73) 1.82 kg (4-0-0) skimmers and bits to pole and corn; 4 Barry Ginnaw (peg 57) 0.96 kg (2-2-0).
PETWORTH & BOGNOR
Bethwins – a two-pond venue north of Petworth on the A283 – is where Petworth & Bognor held the first leg of the Milliard Cup, with three anglers on each pond.
Tench were the chosen target, but it was not long before Steve Simmonds found a good carp of 5lb but sadly lost a larger one which also broke part of his highly-valued pole.
So perhaps it was some consolation to win the match with 7lb 13oz closely followed by Keith Hughes (7lb 10oz), who also landed a good carp plus some small perch.
Any club member wishing to have a nice day out could do a lot worse than visit Bethwins.
They can reach the ponds via the field adjoining the car park, which avoids having to walk alongside the busy road.
Remember to leave the gates as you find them – this is a busy sheep farm and requires co-operation from anglers.
The third leg of the club's evening matches on the river for the Moss Cup was held at Coultershaw and conditions were not ideal with the Rother running fast and coloured, most competitors stayed in the first field.
Stick float and maggot found the smaller fish rather than trying for chub and a barbel.
Vince Herringshaw won with Rab Butler second, fishing where the side-stream joins just above the stile, while Keith Hughes would have won the match having caught a good perch – but discovered a hole in his keep net and the loss of several gudgeon.
For leisure anglers, the Arun is fishing well with some barbel being caught downstream while bream shoals continue to show from both Hardham and Watersfield, where members are reminded to use the new car park rather than leave their vehicles in the field.
The river is in ideal condition and there are reports of catches of quality roach, especially from Hardham.
