Richard Hudson's 77th-minute penalty earned the Rocks a draw at home to Aveley.
Rocks welcomed debut loanee George Barker into the starting line-up, alongside Jason Prior up front. Ross Woolf, who had an impressive game against Carshalton Athletic, started on the bench.
Michael Birmingham and Luke Nightingale were still out
with injury, but Nightingale should know by Tuesday whether he will need an operation on his knee.
Within the first minute, Charlie Oatway won a corner, but the kick was easily cleared by the defence.
Moments later Lewis Ide blasted well over the bar from the edge of the box, thrashing at the ball with his right boot.
On four minutes, Barker got on the end of a decent Matt Wood cross from the right. The young striker turned and instantly shot, but it had no real power and rolled into the grateful arms of Ollie Morris-Sanders.
Then, after some good pressure from the hosts, a low Hudson free-kick fell to Prior, who appeared to be tripped by Michael Alaile. The referee ignored the claims for a penalty.
Down the other end, Ryan Doyle won a corner for the visitors, after rebounding his attempted cross off Lewis Ide. Though the corner was cleared, the ball was played back into the path of Steve Butterworth who was clearly offside.
Nicky Symmons tried his luck from over 35 yards out on the right with an ambitious effort when he was set up by a header from Martin Tuohy. As soon as the player hit the ball, he knew it was well wide.
A throw-in then set up Sherwin Stanley on the left, but the shot flew right over the bar.
Bognor created a chance when Barker beat the defence to smash an effort across goal. Morris-Sanders parried it, but only on to the head of James Crane, who was denied by a goal-line clearance from Doyle.
The visitors instantly replied by winning a corner on the right after Tuohy's shot was deflected. The corner kick fell to Symmons who headed in the box. Somehow Anthony Ender flicked his arm at the ball to divert the danger.
The visitors did score on 21 minutes, albeit not through one of their players. A wicked cross from the right by Steve Demetriou was tough for Lewis Dunk to clear, and the ball flew into the net.
The Millers tried to extend their lead three minutes later when Doyle whipped in a ball into the box of which Ender punched away, but only to Stanley who forced the ball back goalwards. Touhy got on the end of it but couldn't finish, thanks to the instinctive block from Dunk.
On another day the Rocks might have scored from the free-kick that Barker won on the edge of the area. Unfortunately, Hudson curled his dead-ball opportunity narrowly over the bar.
With less than 15 minutes left of the first half, Aveley's Demetriou poked a shot from outside the area. Ender easily saved the effort.
Seconds later, Ender was involved again when he dived to his left to make a fingertip save from a curled Tuohy drive.
Bognor had a chance when Hudson blasted a shot which beat the keeper but Doyle was again on the goal line to clear with his head.
In the closing stages of the first half, Prior appeared to be tripped by Matt Johnson in the centre of the field, but the referee didn't hand any bookings out.
HT 0-1
Oatway didn't reappear for the second half and was replaced by Tim Bond.
Rocks looked the livelier of the two sides from the restart. A decent pass from Hudson set up Dan Beck on the run in the visitors half. Beck then played a pass towards Prior, though Russell beat the striker to it and slipped the ball back for the 'keeper to clear.
Russell then required treatment from the physio after he clashed with Prior.
Then Bognor had another penalty appeal turned down when Beck was went down after a challenge from Russell.
Two minutes later Beck won a free-kick on the right. However, Hudson's kick was too far for the onrushing Bond at the back post.
Hudson then spotted Barker unmarked and lofted a cross from the right. Barker set the ball back inside the box to Beck, who was disappointed to see his low shot hit the side-netting.
The visitors then won a corner on the right and Demetriou's kick eventually fell to Symmons who managed to volley the ball wide.
On the hour, Bond couldn't clear the danger in the area and the ball was snatched by Tuohy who committed Ender into a fantastic diving save to his left.
With around 20 minutes left, substitute Woolf gave away a free-kick when he fouled Butterworth just outside the box.
After a crowd of players gathered around the ball to decide who would take the kick, it was Doyle who stepped up to curve the ball around the wall and call Ender into action once again - diving to his left to power the ball away.
The equaliser came on 77 minutes when the ball was handled in the area. Hudson stepped up to blast the ball low and beyond the outstretched arm of Morris-Sanders.
With around six minutes left, Micky Demetriou appeared to win the ball cleanly from Doyle but the referee awarded a free-kick. Doyle's kick was decent, as Tuohy glanced a header just wide of the far post. Ender appeared to have it covered.
Moments later Michael Alaile leaned over Prior to win the hosts a free-kick. Hudson's long range effort flashed wide of the left post.
To add to the frustration, Beck was deemed to have handled the ball outside the area and received a yellow card. It appeared to most Rocks fans that the handball was accidental and that it appeared to hit his shoulder not his arm.
The free-kick pinged off the upright and bounced out of the box to put an end to a game that Bognor were relieved to come out of with a point.
