Young volunteers have been praised for helping children to take on the challege of reading.
The volunteers helped hundreds of children in West Sussex take part in the summer reading challenge to read six books with a sport theme and tell staff and volunteers all about the books they had read.

They made four visits to the library, borrowing lots of great books but also picking up lots of goodies such as stickers, wall charts and book marks.

Each child who completed the challenge also received a team read certificate and a medal.

Meanwhile, the young volunteers who assisted the scheme were also presented with certificates at a special presentation.
