Dean Adams looks ahead to the new football season in his latest Talking Sport column.
I feel quite excited about the new football season.

It's the time of year when we read all the league previews on teams and study who we think will finish where in there respective leagues - and we also have that cheeky little bet!

So, thinking about things carefully, I have looked into my crystal ball and seen the following...

Premiership - I don't think anyone will top Man Utd. They are my favourites to clinch the title again, but I am expecting Liverpool to challenge if they keep a settled side.

Championship - A tough league. But the more you look at it, the more Birmingham stand out at 6/1 to take the trophy. For an outside bet I fancy Ipswich at 5/1 for promotion.

League One - Leeds Utd and Leicester will be there as expected but I quite fancy Peterborough at 8/1. Certainly 5/1 for promotion. They are a good side under the management of Sir Alex Ferguson's son, Darren.

League Two - Darlington at 8/1 would be my favourites but I had a lot of involvement with Aldershot last year for work and they are a nice 20/1 to win back-to-back league titles.

On the local scene, I can see Bognor being around the lower reaches of mid-table.

The rebuilding process is massive for both Mick Jenkins and Andy Awford and the fans cannot expect too much so soon.

This season will be all about stability - for next season, and we need to support that.

In the county league, it's pleasing to see Chichester City United back home at Oaklands Park.

They have the platform to be a good side there but again they are rebuilding a new team and I cannot see them being more than mid-table.

Danny Hinshelwood has built a good side at Selsey and although the top six will be tough - I don't think they will be that far away.

For those of you that may not have read it in the Observer this week (shame on you...), both Harry Redknapp and Jim Smith will be in Chichester soon.

In aid of Bognor Regis Town FC and Midhurst-based children's charity Dreams Come True the duo will be on hand to answer your questions and to give a few stories or two.

The FA Cup will also be in attendance which gives you that perfect photo opportunity of lifting the worlds most famous trophy.

Tickets and tables are available from www.top-promotions.co.uk
