There were wins for Midhurst's first and second teams - but a rare defeat for Bosham - in the latest Hampshire League matches.
Bosham v Purbrook III

Bosham's second loss of the season provides a stark reminder that promotion from south east division two is not going to be a formality.

Purbrook had looked a beaten side when Alex Cornborough came in.

Excellent
bowling from Martin Farrell, Tom Gilliatt and John Barnett had offered the visitors few scoring chances and Purbrook were well behind the required rate.

They needed 46 from the final six overs but Cornborough smashed four sixes in as many overs to turn the game on its head.

Purbrook needed two off the last over and although James Callighan bowled Harrison, Purbrook grabbed the runs needed for victory.

Earlier, Bosham had made hard work of their batting.

Mark Allen was caught at second slip. Nick Outram (24) and Duncan Barratt (29) were out in quick succession and soon it was 99 for six.

Colin Henderson and Martin Farrell added 32 for the seventh wicket.

When Farrell was caught, Henderson carried on defiantly and with support from George Barratt, he helped Bosham to a respectable total of 158.

Liphook v Midhurst

Simon Lush (94) and Michael Goodwin (124) shared an opening stand of 213 to help Midhurst pile up a winning total of 305 runs at Liphook & Ripsley.

Midhurst took 23 points out of 24 to get back to the top of Hampshire division two.

Stephen May chipped in with a breezy 39 not out to help Midhurst score their highest total this season.

Liphook lost regular wickets and a good third-wicket stand of 104 between Danni and Harvey was not enough.

A return to form saw Chris May take two for 34. Henry Luxton took his maiden wicket at this level and Tim Powell took his 40th wicket of the campaign.

Julian Goodale starred with three for 30.

Midhurst II v Twyford

Hugh Reid hit the winning runs for Midhurst with a straight drive down the ground, putting an end to a bizarre game of cricket.

Midhurst skipper Colin Sharp spilled an easy chance at mid-on, landed on his shoulder and dislocated it.

The match stalled for 55 minutes while a paramedic arrived, removed Sharp and awaited an ambulance.

Then Twyford opener Chris Rose missed a pull off Paul Carter and was hit in the mouth. The ambulance, just leaving, was recalled and Rose and Sharp accompanied one another to hospital.

Gareth Cox pulled up at the start of his seventh over and completed the over with slow left-arm spinners.

Midhurst spilled more chances and Twyford ended with a gettable 185. Lost time gave Midhurst a reduced target of 129 in 24 overs.

Richard Gough, Robbie Pearce and Reid ensured they got there with nine balls remaining.
